For the fifth year in a row, the Waterloo Central Railway will return to the Elmira Maple Syrup Festival an Saturday, March 31, 2012. Tickets will go on sale in February.
The Elmira Maple Syrup Festival began April 10, 1965 with 2,500 attendees expected. When 10,000 showed up in 1965, the festival’s place in Elmira was ensured. Each year, over 2000 volunteers from dozens of community organizations attract tens of thousands of visitors to downtown Elmira. Pancakes, apple fritters, homemade toffee, competitions, arts and crafts, and sugar bush tours are staples of a busy Elmira Maple Syrup Festival day.
More information will appear online in the coming weeks and months.
The Waterloo Central Railway is a proud part of Waterloo Region. We offer hands-on experience for volunteers and an authentic railway experience for passengers.
