Dirty Hands Club
The Dirty Hands Club meets regularly a that St. Jacobs Restoration shop to repair and restore our railway equipment. In the off-season, they typically meet from 10am to 4pm on Saturdays. Between April and November, the club sometimes meets on other operating days, or as the need arises.
As a Restoration Society, there is always something to do. Restoration work ranges from things as simple as scraping paint to as complex as boiler repair.
As an example of the types of work, here is a list of what jobs have been recently carried out:
- Chair upholstery
- Bathroom and water plumbing
- Steam heat plumbing
- Boiler installation
- Window repair
- Car roof repair
- Interior and exterior equipment painting
- Sheet metalwork
- Electrical panel construction
- Rewiring cars
If you are interested, feel free to become a friend of the railway.
