Steam Train Rides
All ages
CA$ 60
On Sunday, August 30, step back in time with a heritage ride behind Steam Locomotive No. 9 (MLW 0-6-0), complete with a classic run-past for an unforgettable photo opportunity!
Sit back and relax as you travel through the picturesque countryside and beautiful farming landscape.
As part of our steam excursion program, your steam train ride will feature one steam run-past where passengers will be let off the train to photograph No. 9 in action under steam with our farmland as the backdrop. Once the train passes and you have your live action photos, everyone gets back on for the remainder of the trip. (The run past is weather permitting – it will not take place if not raining or if track side is wet and muddy.)
Whether you’re a returning guest or visiting us for the first time, we look forward to you joining us at the Waterloo Central Railway, dedicated to the preservation, restoration, and operation of Canadian heritage railway equipment.
This steam train ride is a round trip journey of approximately 2 hours in length with the run-past and returning on the same track. Your round-trip journey begins at our Farmers’ Market Station on Farmers Market Drive adjacent to the St. Jacobs Farmers Market on one side and Value Village on the other.
Parking is available adjacent to the WCR Farmers Market Station in the Value Village parking lot. Please note this train will not stop at our Restoration & Maintenance Facility in St. Jacobs.
No food or drink (except bottled water-reusable bottles encouraged) permitted to be brought onto the train. Please help keep our trains clean by disposing of your water bottles after use or taking them home and recycling them.
